OVECHKIN 2010 COVER BOY

Big Congrats to Alexander Ovechkin on being the NHL2K10 cover athlete for the 2009/10 season!
Last year’s winner of the Hart Trophy, Art Ross Trophy, Maurice Richard Trophy and Lester B. Pearson Award is the logical choice for the honor.
His youthful exuberance, excitement and true passion for the game, shows through on every shift he plays, so who better to grace this upcoming season’s cover than hockey’s human highlight reel ‘Ovie’ and boy, what a cover shot it is indeed!
Prior to this year’s NHL awards, Ovechkin did a public motion-capture session at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. The NHL superstar skated on a temporary outdoor rink from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. PDT with the help of motion-capture technology that 2K Sports touts as brand new and never before used. The motion-capture session was used to capture Ovechkin’s “signature style” for the game.
NHL2K10 hits stores in September, on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, and PlayStation 2.
